The Boone Mennonite Brethren Church has long served as the center of the Junaluska community. At the heart of the church is the Junaluska Gospel Choir, formerly known as the Boone Mennonite Brethren Church Choir. The choir regularly performs at other churches and community events, like the Juneteenth Celebration at the Jones House Cultural Center. Through the power of gospel music, the choir continues to provide connection not only within the Junaluska community but the town of Boone.
